Painting is my way of seeking harmony and balance. The process often feels like prayer — a conversation between the inner self and the visible world.
My work rarely begins with a fixed idea. Instead, it starts with a feeling, a nudge, or an emotional current that reveals itself through color, shape, layering, and movement.
I'm interested in creating spaces that feel both structured and intuitive — where geometry, architecture, and abstraction can coexist with vulnerability, grief, joy, and spiritual longing.
Through my paintings, I hope to invite viewers into the unseen spaces within themselves — places of reflection, healing, imagination, and emotional truth.
Jennifer Grace Askew (b. 1989) is a contemporary expressive abstract painter based in Greensboro, North Carolina. Working primarily with acrylic paint and markers on canvas and wood surfaces, she creates layered, multidimensional compositions that blend intuition, structure, and emotional depth — strikingly colorful and spiritually resonant.
